PERMAFYX L271

DEERLEAP LANE, HAMPSHIRE

Deerleap Lane, Ashurst, Hampshire, SO40

Applied on 14th September 2020

The Need:

A section of the road had experienced ground heave and subsidence during the dry summer period which caused extensive surface deformation to occur. Whilst there was significant surface cracking, there were also sections within the wheel track zone where the road had sunk by up to 30mm, creating dangerous conditions for cyclists.

Solution:

Hampshire Highways had already included the road within their resurfacing program for 2021, but needed a solution to make it safe in the meantime. PermaFyx L271 was selected because of its ability to be applied directly onto the road surface, without any need for surface cutting or excavation. In addition to this, the versatile mixing options gave the installation team the ability to formulate each mix according to the depth of repair.

Summary:

Meon supported the installation team on the first day to ensure the mixing procedure and application techniques were fully understood. The project was completed under mobile traffic management control and Hampshire Highways confirmed that the solution fixed a problem with minimal disruption to road users. The solution is environmentally favourable, removes the need for hot works and enabled the installation to be completed using LCV works vehicles, satisfying project requirements for no HGV’s to attend site.
