DEKORGRIP RESIN BOUND

COBDEN JUNCTION

The Need

A junction situated next to the popular London underground station, Mornington Crescent, was in need of a refurbishment after the surface surrounding the statue of Richard Cobden had become worn down and outdated. Many locals had campaigned for the upgrade beforehand, due to its lack of safety and poor visual appearance.

Consisting mainly of paving slabs, the surface was becoming more unsafe due to eventual unevenness causing trip hazards. Therefore it was important that the surface be replaced with a safe and attractive solution

Solution

A DekorGrip Resin Bound surfacing system in Rich Havana was esteemed to be both a suitable and attractive finish that would compliment the statue and its surrounding area.

This would be installed both around the statue itself and throughout Cobden Junction, revitalising the area and attracting more attention and visitors to the space.

Summary

Installation was carried out and completed by one of DekorGrip’s skilled and approved installers.

The finished surface completely transformed the area, bringing a modern and attractive look to the junction. It now attracts many visitors every day, with people using it as a place to sit and relax - a stark contrast to before installation.
