The All-New Line Marking & Surface Repair Expo... a great success

Meon's Live EXPO has come and gone, and wow… what a great day it was! On the 7th October Meon hosted the new and improved Line Marking and Surface Repair EXPO at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground.

This free to attend the event unveiled exciting new innovations in the Line Marking and Surface Repair industries, bringing together new-to-market products, engaging talks, great food, and a thrilling Segway tournament!

The primary message for the event was 'Driving towards Net Zero Carbon Highways', exploring how the governments decarbonisation strategy is impacting the industry, and ensuring that the highest Safety, Durability and Sustainability standards are always considered at project levels.

Neil Potter, Head of Marketing at Meon, said: “The event was a huge success and feedback from visitors was that they found it very engaging, were able to meet some great new contacts, while exploring genuine break-throughs in technology that will really change the way the industry approaches projects in the future.”

The Live EXPO focused on the 3 core pillars that make up the backbone of our industry… Sustainability, Durability and Safety.

  • Sustainability because it’s not about necessarily following the lowest commercial option. We need to think wider and higher about the impact on future generations.
  • Durability because we have to consider the impact of repeated intervention on the network and the promotion of long lasting solutions as opposed to quick fixes.
  • Safety because we share 100% with the mission to reduce KSI (Killed or Seriously Injured) on the network. The introduction of autonomous vehicles overlaps imperfectly with an ageing driver demographic and a network that is running to catch up.

One guest upon being asked, added: "It was a really good day. The EXPO provided us with lots of ideas on possible innovations that we can work alongside Meon to achieve. We have already begun speaking with our own clients to arrange trials."

During the day guests took part in the Segway tournament, and after some thrilling races on the go-karting track it was time for the final 8 to battle it out to see who would be crowned Segway champion.
